I run .028" gap in my current engine and have run gaps as low as .020" in some of my engines - like the 7200rpm 289 that I built. Contrary to popular beliefs large gaps are not good (better than smaller gaps) for high compression or high rpm engines.
WebbI read somewhere that gap should be at .028 psi. My car was pinning pretty hard, to a point of check engine flashing. I changed the gap to .028 and it got significantly better. Anyway, my tuner says i am getting plug blow out at such a large gap, which is why it needs to be gapped smaller.
